Structural Bodywork Sessions

Much like a sculptor works with clay, the practitioner of Structural Integration works with the body's living, malleable, myofascial system by lengthening and re-shaping the fascia.

The combination of hands-on applied pressure through the practitioner, and synchronized movements by the client releases restrictions in the fascial layering of the body.  The new freedom within and across body segments allows the body to release long-held patterns of bracing and to move into a state of natural equilibrium.

Clients of Structural Integration will often report a sense of spaciousness, increased fluidity and greater stability, as well as reductions in chronic pain and stress.

The 10 Series of Structural Integration - designed by Dr. Ida Rolf - is a 10 session blueprint for realigning the entire body with minimal relapse. The specific approach for achieving individual structural and functional goals via the 10 Series varies greatly depending upon the individual's needs, their current physical state and their physical and emotional history.

Individual sessions in Structural Integration are available, and are considered a valid approach for addressing specific pain and movement conditions. This approach also allows the individual to assess whether they are prepared for the longer term objectives of Structural Integration and the associated commitment.
